Corax feared Curze to an extent, if it weren't for his or in this her loving family and upbringing. She could have been as worse as Curze, Curze was a twisted reflection. And Curze envied Corax for having a better upbringing unlike growing on a shithole that is Nostramo.

Everyone feared Curze to an extent. Dude was designed to put the fear of God in every soul he came across. The only exceptions would be Angron who was too angry to get scared and Perturabo who was too done with everyone’s shit to be scared.

I thought the reason why Curze was so ineffective at Legion v Legion was that fear tactics don't work on other legions? Far as I'm aware, he gets his ass kicked at every fight where he doesn't hold advantage by being in the shadows or the victim being extensively tortured beforehand.

Night Lords aren’t effective in Legion v Legion combat because they’re a Legion of criminals, murderers and rapists designed to be used as a weapon of fear against mortal populations. Putting them up against actual warrior and soldier Astartes is a bad match up, but Konrad being Konrad still unnerved his brothers, even prior to the Heresy.

And the only ones who were actually good at actual Astartes combat were either the Terran born, who granted were still more focused on terror than combat but had the instructions to do so, or the Nostramo firsts like Talos and Sevatar.

And funnily enough, Curze was always jealous of and resented Corax for the latter's superior stealth abilities, saying "I could haunt the night, but Corax owned it."
This scene was awesome but for me it wasn't Corax kicking Lorgar's ass. It was Konrad Curze (of all people) telling Lorgar what a shit he is to his face due to the Gal Vorbak (first deployment of Possessed Marines in the Heresy).
