It probably didn't go over well because your "joke" just looks like an unprovoked jab at America. Considering how many regulars we have that have a very long history of extremely vocal distaste for Americans, it should be obvious a joke seemingly accusing America of a pedophilia problem isn't going to be taken well.
Not that America, mainly Hollywood, doesn't have a pedophilia problem, but, you know. Probably not the best place to be pointing those fingers anywhere in particular.

I didn’t realize there was any “bickering” happening there was one response each. Then I notice that everything I say is downvoted to oblivion for no reason. Then I remember what website I’m on.
