Maribel and Renko. Lets see, one can tell time by looking at the sky, and one can barely see and sense gaps/energy. They would probably be the most rapeable in Touhouverse.

These two mary sues showed up out of nowhere in SSiB, and promptly trampled most of the cast, without spellcards or any of the usual stuff associated with Touhou. Their probably the two most hated characters in the series.

Serious shit dude. Remember the good ol Pc-98 days? Ya, they didnt have spell cards either. Danmaku "Play" wasnt invented and enforced by police Reimu untill EoSD. Ofcourse the cast are going to get trampled. A real fight doesnt have rules.
If the cast didnt have to follow Reimu's "Law of the land" then Sakuya would stab you in time freeze, Yukari would gap your insides out, Flandre would just blow your brains out, see where i'm getting at here? They arent Mary Sues just because they didnt follow some obscure law that doesnt even exist in their land.
Ragna_Darkness said: I mean come on A fan that is pratically a Flandre and a Sword that summon Gods?! BULLSHIT even Meimu is not THAT bad
Nah, they were cheating. They brought their powers into a danmaku fight, while the others fought casually. Nobody (except Mystia, Sakuya and some other exceptions, where it didn't affect the difficulty that much) ever did this. And Yukari was intentionally fucking around with them according to her plan.
The Moon isn’t beholden to the silly rules, unwritten laws and intricacies of danmaku. It shouldn’t be expected that Yorihime would know and abide by them.
You know, if not for the holes undermining her victory, I would say this is exactly why she won. Being so inexperienced, she was at an advantage, and that SsiB is no more a clever criticism of the danmaku game. Logically speaking she was smart in actually utilizing her powers the best way possible in order to win.
Nearly every one of Gensokyo’s crew fell victim to the downfalls of danmaku as a game or their own faults (Sakuya with overconfidence, Marisa with the beauty and show of danmaku, exploited by Yorihime when she simply avoided the pattern, Reimu with her laziness). It also helped that Yorihime was tipped off by Eirin and playing for keeps, while nearly everyone else was in danmaku mode and weren't trying too hard. It wasn’t an incident so Reimu certainly didn’t care too much, especially once she remembered there was nothing in it for her either.
In no way am I condoning SSiB and its faults, but the Watatsukis are valid characters. I like them. Taken at face value, there are plenty of other characters that are Mary Sues based on their powers alone, one of the criticisms of the Watatsukis, but complaints about them are far rarer.
They're supposed to be strong and were shown to be strong, albeit at the expense of a few long standing and popular characters, and Touhou fags had a problem with that, despite none of them being nigh unbeatable. The bottom line of it all is if they had debuted in a game rather than a manga based on a hard to translate game concept, no one would have really given a shit.
I would think that the reason people are calling them out is more that they're really quite generic characters. You got the time-stopping maid, the half-ghost swordswoman, the singing night sparrow, the frog god, the nuclear raven... compared to the colorful cast of the games (with some exceptions, certainly), they just don't really stand out. The only thing I can remember about either of them is that one of them likes peaches, and Tenshi already took that.

Except ya know...the sisters pre-date some of those characters you mention. So no one took anything from the sisters. Also, Gensokyou is supposed to be "not normal". Maribel, Renko, and the sisters are supposed to be more on the "Normal" side. Actually, Sunny, Luna and star are also generic fairies. Even the Aki sisters have almost no redeeming qualities to them. Its just that, sometimes being not popular has the good side effect of not being hated. No one really hates the fairies or the Aki sisters because they are so low on the popularity scale, people forget they exists. Same for Medicine.
If that would come up more often or it was just that, I wouldn't care, but that's rarely the case. I know not everyone is like this, but it's usually just grousing about Moonbitch with very few legit and well thought out criticisms.
Admittedly I also dislike nicknames and memes like Moonbitch and the latest mains being sluts. It's the fanbase at its least creative and most annoying.
I like the Watatsukis the most in CiLR, which gives them some character. I thought CiLR and the end of SSiB should have gotten most off their backs. In any case, the point of the Watatsukis was to make them as Reimu and Yukari are to Gensokyo, right down to their abilities, certain personality aspects, and such.
It's been said that Reimu did teach Yorihime the spell card rules before the fight, though her god-summoning ability is cheap for one reason: Ignoring the very rules it's bound by (Can't use that ability if the sword is dirty, but it's said taht Yorhime summons a god to clean it. in RPG terms it's like casting a silence cure spell while silenced.)
That fan Toyohime has is something that just shouldn't exist due to how powerful it is. Ultimately in the end Yukari succeeded in her plan just to troll them. (Which would explain why she convinced a group of folks who were kinda lackadaisical to fight; as a distraction)
Chances are they do come off better in CiLR, but the fact is how they came barging into a manga pulling off wins so cheap you'd swear they were related to Sasuke. If they were in a game first where people could fight them, I think people would perceive them better.
But as far as the pic itself, I do not see such a thing happening. Anyone that cheap would defeat most faceless guys long before they could be a threat.
Can I just say that I find it extremely strange that people are having a deep debate about anime on a hentai site...it's porn...most people just watch and rub and don't think about anything. But kudos to all you intellectuals.

Tecnically...this isn't a hentai site. It's an image board. I do think we have more SFW images than NSFW images.

Danbooru. Come for the porn, stay for the intellectually stimulating conversation.

That's fandom for ya, turning everything you're suppose to enjoy into serious business. About to read silent sinner myself just to see what all the whinings about.

Yorihime's power is channeling the power of the shinto pathenon. Saying she can't summon the gods would mean she can't use any spellcards she could develop out of them.
Worst part of all is the whining is unfounded. None of the Gensokyo gang took the fight seriously save Remilia, and even she d*cked around (which is why she lost).
Sakuya - Has Yorihime dead to rights with the first time stop. Even held a knife to her neck. She didn't finish it because she knew Remilia wanted to be the one to defeat Yorihime, so she dragged it out until Yorihime figured out her trick and came up with a counter. Final Result: Sakuya could have soloed Yorihime had she felt so inclined.
Marisa - Was just playing, and gave up without ever being hit even once (or even attacked). Her attacks are all light so Yorihime summoned some mirror goddess and Marisa got lazy. Final Result: Yorihime probably would have won anyways, but Marisa could have easily dragged it out longer to exhaust her if she wasn't being lazy.
Remilia - Smacking Yorihime around with pure brute strength at first, then she stops to gloat in typical Remi fashion and gets knocked out when Yorihime summons freakin' Amaterasu! The fact that Remi tanked a shot from a sun goddess should be praised, but fans focus on the fact that she lost because she played around when she had the initial advantage. Final Result: Remilia should have won, but shot herself in the foot.
Reimu - Her heart wasn't in it from the start (she even admitted the Gensokyo gang were the bad guys and that bad guys always lose), and after Yorihime countered her corruption/curse god trick she gave up instead of using Fantasy Heaven to go intangible. Final Result: We fans were cheated out of what should have been an epic fight because Reimu was being lazy!
Overall Final Result: Yorihime should have lost a guaranteed two times out of four, and her versus a serious Reimu could have gone both ways with odds favoring Reimu because of Fantasy Heaven. So she could have easily lost three out of four matches had the Gensokyo gang been deadly serious from the start; which is incredible when you realize Yorihime is basically a non-lazy Reimu with centuries of experience and no Fantasy Heaven.
They have no one to blame for their losses but themselves, and even then Yukari trolled the Watatsuki sisters in the end. To top it off, for someone supposedly so racist, Yorihime was incredibly polite to a bunch of people who admitted they were in her homeland to invade and pillage and let them go home unharmed!
