Well Minken, I hope you are in for a very long winded answer to your question.
To be honest, I really loved Akane back when she had long hair. Not only was she more attractive but she had an all-around nicer personality. In her long haired days, Akane practiced martial arts on a regular basses with her father and used her skills daily. She also used to have more meaningful dialog with Ranma and they would playfully teas and laugh at each other. I also recall that when Akane became angry it was never as overdramatized and unfairly misplaced like it is now. She even fought to defend Ranma from Kuno twice, and carried him home from Dr Tofu’s on her back. She was really a cool girl back then.
Now she's an ugly, dike looking bitch, with a shitty attitude, and a constant double standard. Akane is allowed to yell at Ranma and kick his ass for almost no reason but he can’t even tell her to screw off without everyone jumping down his throat. And in the end, even if nothing was his fault, he’s still forced to apologize to her. (Read the arc where Nabiki becomes Ranma’s fiancee).
Akane thinks it’s her right to beat her fiancée for being a pervert (when he isn’t one) but then turns around and treats assholes like Ryouga and Gosunkugi (Who actually are perverts) with friendship and respect. She acts as if Ranma were in the same category as Kuno half the time. When Ranma tries to protect Akane, his help is always met with getting either yelled at or a fist in his face. (Read the super soba arc and every arc where P-chan sleeps in her bed). Akane also finds it perfectly normal to force her shitty cooking onto Ranma when she herself knows that it’s bad. The bitch doesn’t even taste her food before serving it, and then she has the nerve to call him a jerk when he starts gagging and turning blue.
All-around, she's just a spoiled fucking brat; spoiled by a majority of the characters, and spoiled by the author herself. (Being as Akane is her self-insert character) Akane is always unquestionably favored by most of the cast but does almost nothing to earn such favoritism. I’ll admit that there are a few arcs in the manga where she stops being a bitch and shows a different side to her, but it never lasts for long and she reverts right back into cunt mode again.
So Minken, this is why I can’t stand the bitch. She ‘does’ have a very few redeeming qualities, but they aren’t enough to overcompensate for her overwhelming shitty personality.

I actually read that a while ago. While I don't believe Akane could ever get crazy enough to kill Ranma I do believe it does an accurate job of pointing out Akane's flaws and the overall flaw, that is her relationship with Ranma. (especially if they were to ever get serious about their engagement/marriage)
