why is Ichirin screwed? She only has the power to control spirits like Unzan, but seeing how she willingly went into the barrier it means she doesn't need her powers to have Unzan around her.

Most likely, if they fight, Unzan would simply be there for her.

They are more likely there to help with Byakuren's pre fight preparations

My money's on Unzan still being there, that the only thing which dissolved was his manifestation. Though, how much help he'd be to Ichirin like that apart from serving as another set of eyes is something I can only wonder about..
