Looks like it. Personally, I'd like to think the Mokou-Kaguya fight ended with a Babality, Mortal Kombat 2 style.

Or that Mokou managed to destroy her so completely that normal regeneration didn't work anymore and she had to take "the long way" to get back to normal? (Her body was rebuilt instead of repaired like usually.)

It could be that or like some authors like to put it the fight went on so long that their accumulated energy was deepleted making her body break it's form into a younger one to uphold and re-suply on magic/energy

I just re-read this, and I was suddenly reminded of this video by the BitF comic.
