Sensors. Humanoid mechs with ALL of their sensor clustered in head area doesn't make sense from ANY real world design perspectives. You'd need to tilt, turn, and twist the neck part to grasp visual information of your surroundings and enemies; it's far more efficient to embed sensors around the mainframe. Just like nowadays cars has rear parking cameras, humanoid mechs shouldn't be to the same design pitfall as the 'old' generation of Super Robots.
