Not enough JRPGs actually have character's equipped clothes and armor actually change their in-game appearance. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Resonance of Fate.

Old playstation RPG, Legend of Legaia. Every peice of armor you wear changes your characters look in battle. Weapons included.

I doubt it, atlus promised there would only be one version of p4 after people complained about them milking p3. At least fes had a purpose since the ending to p3 kind of sucked. P4's ending wrapped things up pretty well on the other hand.

There's also Radiata Stories for the PS2, made by the same people who made Resonance of Fate. Mind you it wasn't the greatest game ever, though I enjoyed it anyway. And though it's not every single piece of armor like in RS, there are some armor you can wear in Wild Arms 5 that changes your appearance. Again, not the greatest game, enjoyed it anyway, etc. And of course there's Persona 3 and all its versions. And then there are games where you can change your appearance, but it's not based on armor, like the Tales costumes.

Good lord I need a life.
For good reason though, theres a reason why most RPG's dont do the whole "Change armor" thing. It takes a ton of space and a ton of time. In the end its just pretty looking without doing much for the actual story or gameplay. I mean, you would rather they spend time on the actual game right? Though I do have high respects for games that honestly change your character based on EVERY piece of equipment. Legend of Legaia wasnt the best RPG around, but it holds enough Nostalgia for me to like it. And i'll always remember it for the fact that your characters are constantly changing due to weapons and armor.
