It's kind of like this; whether it's real or not isn't the important point, it's more of the reaction it illicits. To be fair you could argue that it's having one's emotions played upon, and while that is true, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Think of grave of the fireflies; basically it's the other side of the WWII story we're taught in class. Real or not, imaginary or not, for the sake of the story, it would be more than unusual not to have some kind of emotional reaction taking place. To deny having any emotions is to be less than human would you not think (sociopaths etc.)?

Put that way, perhaps, but I think what she's accepting is the fact that she must sell her body for being allowed to perform rather than the sex itself. Granted, it's not normal rape since there's a choice as you said, but in the picture she shows clear unwillingness and begs the men to stop. I've known similar things happen in real life, and they were definitely considered rape rather than prostitution.

As for why we showed strong reactions to depicted atrocities, I'd say, for the same reason as we're soothed by heart-warming stories and tearful at sad stories. (Ugh, I'm still weak with aesthetic epistemology.) Ande made good points about it. Whether it's real or fiction isn't important when something causes emotions in us, and feeling those emotions isn't silly or childish. Obviously, not feeling them much is also normal.

I always say this: when there is a difference in opinions which are both respectable, not agreeing is normal, not understanding the other opinion is fine, criticizing whatever faults the other opinion may have is good, but that's the border. Debasing the other is going overboard.

Oh but i am aware of the whole point of drawing/real doesnt matter, even drawings many times get further than real when expresing feelings and such.
But for me at least it makes it harder to feel sorry for her, when its forced prostitution. She always has a choice but she is in a tight spot and uses the only tool she has to get the concert.
It may or may not be sad but i feel there is too much reaction on this one, compared to other content with real rape, murders and such.

You aren't wrong there. Things rarely happen for no reason, so I guess there was something else that attracted more outbursts of emotion than others. Like, the irony of Merlin and Lyrica being oblivious to what Lunasa really is doing when she goes to the village to "have some complicated discussions". I won't - can't - make conclusions about whether the reaction here is "too much" as you say, but I can understand there being 'more' reactions than other images with real rape and such.

Regarding "real" rape actually, you'd know that most of the rape images we see around are supposed to be sexually appeasing. Kind of numbs people to what horrific a sin rape is. When a real depiction of rape and its affliction to the victim is given, people usually react strongly to those images as well. Like post #547229 and its child posts.

Yes. Reproduction is 'happy'. Though when forcibly exerted on a near defenseless girl, between a group of men, is a bit evil. And this is one of the first true representations of real rape. Provided, when you said it was supposed to be happy, you were referring to the to-be performance? Yes it would have been, and such previous blocks in the comic strip were very light-hearted. Although then....

But it can't be happy now. You actually will feel so much different if you avert your perspective to the victim instead of the criminal (yes, technically you are entering the POV of a criminal in these kinds of pics if you think what most people do).
