Ranma being happy with a bitch like Akane; Akane making an edible stew; having children as happy go lucky as those two are; As revolting as I find Ranma and Akane together, I guess fanart can make any canonically awful paring look like a match made in heaven.

She ended up able to make a quite decent curry dish, but I believe that was it.

If you're talking about the episode I think you are, you should remember that it was the Water of Life that helpped make her cooking edible. Other than that non-canically, she has learned how to successfully boil water.

No, it was in the Manga before she went to the area with the water-of-life; same story arc, but she made the curry on her own.
