Ah yes, Amanita muscaria, the OG Mario Super Mushroom. Poisonous (hallucinogenic and mildly neurotoxic) when raw or cooked poorly, though you would need to eat a decent chunk of them (~30 caps for a grown man) to actually die from it. Tastes absolutely vile and can leave you tripping for hours with stomach cramps... and then anyone who drinks your pee will trip too. And then anyone who drinks their pee will also trip, and so on.

Boiling it to death while changing the boiling water a few times can detoxify it, and it reportedly tastes quite good when sauteed in lots of butter afterwards.

Horses generally avoid it. Deer love it, and will seek it out to trip from it. Leaves them mostly drunk. And their pee will also be hallucinogenic (while mostly being 'detoxified'), which was how shamans in Europe and Asia used this drug for religious purposes.

Please don't eat this shroom. Unless it's part of your cultural practice, in which case, sure, go ahead, but with the proper precautions taken.
