I'm still surprised that many people on the internet never seen a humantaur before (or a regular centaur based on some comments out there). I know that monmusu genre is not very popular among weebs, but come on man, they should be more open for the fact that monmusu is not just kemonomimi or mermaid or humanoid (succubus et al.); but also lamia, centaur, harpy, arachne, etc.
Although to be fair, most of humantaur arts you find on the internet are low-to-mid quality arts usually found on DeviantArt. But this one is actually high-quality, a rarity even other monster girls arts (including centaurs in general), especially by an Eastern artist (Chinese in this case).
For this character in particular, this is her "combat mode". She can also transform to humanoid form with horse tail intact (think Chiron from Fate). I love her overall design, including her "centaur knight" look.

I think this train of thought is what the artist was going for, so I don't think it's abnormal lol. It seems clear to me that they deliberately drew this character to appeal to certain fetishes. There are ways to draw human centaurs and not be hot.
