Newsflash? There are more anime watchers than manga/light novel readers.

Thats why Suzumiya Haruhi didnt really take off until after Kyoani did an anime.

Ofcourse this is also the reason why the anime versions get cencored up the butt.

In in the Naruto manga its perfectly normal to see guys getting their heads cut off but in the anime they censor it to "falling off a bridge/cliff".

Sadly it's true.

The censoring of Anime is more aimed at making people buy the DVD and BluRay to get the full version of whatever Anime, it's just a marketing ploy.

Also sadly, the so called "Uncut" versions are aimed at Ecchi anime's which include removing the steam from hot springs episodes an the like. As far as "Uncutting" action shows go, it doesnt exists. There is no "Manga version" anime of Bleach or Naruto.
