Dokibird's popularity and the scope of this entire incident in general is unprecedented. The only comparison we have in regards to big companies, at least as far as the west is aware of anyway, is what happened with Kson and her old job. And while her situation made me hopeful that things would improve at her old job for her former coworkers (and they did slowly and not without their stumbles for sure), Dokibird's leaves me the opposite, with her old job not really caring too much to improve things for her former coworkers, especially considering their track record in regards to the treatment of their overseas branches. And regardless of how much truthful that sorry excuse of a termination letter is, there's still plenty of good people at her old job that caught in the crossfire.
Erika mentioned in her graduation stream that 2024 would start out sad but would get better eventually. Although that was in regards to her situation and her hinting that we'll see her again in some form, it seems like this applies to the vtuber scene this year so far.
