in reality it can be permantent
in the series and VN it was stated that the more close to perfection the creation the longer its duration, but it would always break because of the holes in the projection, but he and shirou can perfectly recreate any blade.

Not quite true. They can almost, almost perfectly recreate any blade, but it will eventually vanish. The only thing that can be perfectly recreated is Avalon, and even then only by FateShirou, who is NOT Archer (Archer is from unseen Ilya route). The reason he can recreate Avalon perfectly is because it was quite literally part of his body for over fifteen years.

Welllllllllll.... they only fade 'cause Gaia works to crush them out of existence. In Gensokyo, where such a thing would hardly happen, I'd say it's reasonable to assume they're last much, much longer.

Actually I was incorrect. Shirou's Projections are weird in that apparently they don't fade back into the environmental mana, unlike normal Projections.

Shirou's Projections, both of weapons and mundane objects, are weird in that they last so long Shirou was honestly confused as to why Rin was claiming Projections generally only last a day at most.

It's implied they only get destroyed if Shirou lets them be destroyed due to his "image" of the object not being good enough.

Do you think if one of Archer's blades gets enough faith it may become a yokai?
