Starting to get the idea that the elves in the BBVerse are insane (as in "doing the same thing again and again, expecting a different result each time") and/or fanatical (as in "redoubling their efforts, having lost their aim").
That said, I was never really a fan of this sort of characterization of elves as a people. This sort of thing worked in A Friendly Orc's Daily Life because most of the elves that appear "on camera" have more or less normal sex drives, for a given definition of "normal," and it was literally just the one elf who was Like That™ -- and even she had standards.
If any women are reading this, please know that "playing hard to get" NEVER WORKS.
Any halfway sane or decent man will be driven off by you, and the only guys who will continue pursuing you are sadistic wife-beating fucks who wouldn't take a "no" even if their lives depended on it.

That's not the worst advice IRL, but in the bbverse context it's probably optimal for an elf to play hard to get, since it shows that she's still capable of a semblance of rationality and has some measure of emotional intelligence.

Alanis, killed by an elven swordswoman
I agree with you there; I feel the whole "elves are super thirsty" thing has felt kind of overplayed for a long time now.
@Alanis_the_Evoker not fond of when animes or games randomly does it, but in Baalbuddy's case, part of the joke is that they don't act like elves normally would. The whole 'verse is this partially reversed hentai world where the only guys with a sex drive are the skeletons and some of the Paladins, the Gal'o is a faithful responsible husband, and a woman is cursed to never get laid.

@Equi_libriste And that's what makes it fall flat for me. When it's just a relative handful of characters who are Like That™ among a bunch of more-or-less normal folks, it's hilarious. When everyone is Like That™, it just becomes clichéd from the other direction.
