Actually both deal with modern firearms. Classic Firearms are the pre cartridge ones like pinfire, caplock, flintlock, wheellock, matchlock, etc. Basically almost all of the pre 1880 firearms are considered classic and, those which use self contained cartridge ammunition are modern. One day when we have energy weapons we will have to rethink the terms.

Classic was the wrong term I meant WWII weaponry, I was thinking of the WWII enfield rifle when I saw Hawkeye
