A Ride in the Moonlight
It's been a while since I haven't done a really crappy title. We'll say that it's due to the holidays, huh ?
Well ? Whatever is it that happened since last time ? Well, I worked on a new comic project, and this project has been signed by Clair de Lune(french books publisher) (who did not take Tild again, you cannot have everything) !
So I'm presenting you « The Riders » , a fantasy story sprinkled with a zest of steampunk, with action and comedy of course !
A small preview of the main characters :
(Note that you can see a preview of the colored rendering that'll be used for this comic)
Phénice is a young woman with a bit of cold manners, which is mostly the sign of a stoic temperament, serious and mostly calm. She's essentially a kind person. Although it should be known that she's not fairly keen, and has the habit of taking everything at face value (metaphores and hard-to-understand words to rule out) : when she starts to have a silly look, better not insist !
Phénice is an exceptional warrior (not only talented but reached her level through extensive training and battles) and most important, she's one of those « Riders ». But what's a Rider you may ask ?
(I strongly recomend you to click on the image to see it bigger !)
Harpie is a mechanical mount, a union of science and magic which is named « armount » (contraction of « armor » and « mount »), who's performances are far better than those of an organic mount. Although, not everyone's able to use those machines, and those who can are named « Riders ».
It's a pretty broad term, that reflects the diverse look of those machines.
That being so, the armount is also a rare and pricy product, generally the appanage of noble families.
Sire Ghald's equine build, overpriced and ornate, which perfectly fits which what I meant by "the appanage of noble families".
The maintenance of an armount is a real task and a fighter is rarely paired with a genious mechanic. And for that each Rider has the custom of buying the services of an Equerry, who takes care of the maintenance.
Darren is a young passionate of mechanics and armounts in particular, but, coming from a modest family, he couldn't receive an appropriate training and is entirely autoditact. Even if being able to ride an armount or be hired as an Equerry seems impossible, he continues to hope. Darren has a fiery and impulsive temperament, a bit « geek » and playful
And this is how this our little sneak peek ends ! I hope it made you want to discover the story !
