EDIT: its not a Mexican flag, its an Italian flag with a mushroom in the middle, I'll admit its a little confusing.

Well, the Mexican and Italian flags are very similar (insert facts why here). Seeing that Mario is Italian and all... is this an error? Or perhaps the artist is poking fun at the similarity?
