Lizize Borden, a girl that went crazy in the 1800s and axed her parents to death. Newspapers to sell papers came up with a childrens jump rope song about it, which was what I rephrased. Although she axed her parents far less than in the song.

She was acquitted of all charges actually, but not before becoming one of the most infamous people of the day, largely because of that song. If the person that came up with it had only lived a bit latter they'd have made a fortune coming up with jingles for radio and early TV.
