Based on the fact that she is picking flowers petals, I am guessing the former. The game is that you take a flower and pick each petal one by one, saying "X loves me" and "X loves me not" alternatively, back and forth. Whichever one you end on is the one which is true.
Of course, unfortunately for Alice, she is going to end on "Marisa loves me not." Oof.
