    I need to hide the fact that I am a Takenoko no Sato fan... Takenoko no Sato (literally: Bamboo Shoot Village) is another type of cookie made by the same company, this one shaped like bamboo shoots. Apparently, the argument about whether Kinoko no Yama or Takenoko no Sato is better has been long-standing, well-known, and intense enough to deserve its own Wikipedia article

    The 11th of August is Kinoko no Yama Day

    A cookie shaped like a mushroom. Apparently known as "Chocorooms" in the US. The name means literally "Mushroom Mountain", which is why the commemorative date is set to this day (see below).

    Established on this day because the national holiday known as "Mountain Day" is celebrated on this day!
