Never was said or shown. Closest thing to knowing about his hair is that he doesn't want anybody to know what's under his hat. Might not even be his hair he's trying to hide.

I can't be for certain but I do remember someone saying something about him hiding some kind of dodgeball related injury under his hat (one episode stated he had a "history with this game" and something about gym class) and someone saying its his brain that bulges(The line "Does it hurt, Double D?" from the movie). Then again, it's probably both. Either way, we never do find out what it is.
