Or maybe a long time ago. Time in Gensoukyo may not work exactly like we know or the barrier somehow interfere. There is just something about this whole backstory that screams WW2 to me. Don't know why. I am likely wrong.

My guess is she'll grow up to be a bounty hunter.

Her father is half-shot, half-dies, and becomes Youki, turning him into a pervert and putting previous strips in a really creepy new light. Angry, Sakuya moves in with the Scarlets, a family of vampires who live next door.

Bonus secret backstory: Also, Meiling isn't actually the gatekeeper. She just stopped in front of the SDM to take a nap one day and never quite got around to leaving.

Even so, how do you even end up in Gensokyo? Unless people believe young Sakuya doesn't exist anymore...

Sakuya's watch, passed on to her by her father. Who never quite knew why it was so important, just that it was. She'd eventually get around to figuring out how to use it to manipulate her timeframe relative to others', but would always hear the faintest whispers every time she used it. Except for one week, where she had nothing but bad dreams; luckily, the whispers stopped altogether after that time.
