It's not a tag, it's a label. Only the artist can add it, so unless it was a mistake it's legit.
There is also an actual AI-generated tag that can be added by users, but this is a separate thing from the AI-generated label added by the original uploader.
Pixiv also doesn't distinguish between AI-assisted and AI-generated like we do, so the presence of the label just means AI was involved in some capacity, not necessarily that it was fully generated by AI.
