All of this would be more interesting if it didn't feel like all of the fight up until a later point will be invalidated by a sudden INNER STRENGTH THROUGH UNDERSTANDING that I'm sure is going to come up.
I've been suspicious with the Yuka fight, even though I'm willing to buy the cop-out that Sanae controls miracles.
It looks like Eiki~sama is holding Mokou by her feet as is Komachi holding Kaguya; maybe some head - head action again?
I agree with Anelaid, though it would be a shame for Higan team to loose at this point; they displayed strength, tactics and teamwork; Eiki~sama being an immortal (according to Touhou Wiki) as well there is no apparent reason for Friendly Fire to win...

I have a feeling Higen might win, mostly due to Eiki making a really good point about the tournament needing an efficient antagonist team that people would root to lose. I mean beating the ridiculously popular Kaguya-hime and the Dark horse Mokou would skyrocket their heel status by miles.

Sanae's been up against unbalanced teams with some sort of personal issue, in contrast, the HJ have no issues, and is basically near perfect in many regards. The Immortals aren't that strong and Mokou's something of a weak point.

This. Yuuka/Cirno were a mess all around dynamically. Meiling and Flan, while great competitors individually, showed little actual teamwork aside from that one big dive Flan pulled.
HJ however has shown to be probably the best actual team top to bottom so far.

Well Yuuka/Cirno asides from their issues were imbalanced (Cirno being a glaring weak point)
The problem with Meiling/Flandre in their match was that Meiling had skill, but was out muscled by Suwako (Whose old war god instincts might have been awakened by Yuuka), and Flan for all her might didn't have much skill or instinct.
Reisen/Youmu despite all their training couldn't cut it even with dirty tricks against Reimu/Remi as once the latter two started getting serious about the match, it's basically over.
Reimu/Remilia are only held back by their personalities and possibly merely good teamwork. Remi favors melee and Reimu's very experienced in duking it out with various beings. They're among the strongest overall teams still left.
Yuugi/Orin: Strong team for certain, but Orin needs some trickery to make up for her otherwise average stats. (Not sure if they're counted out or not), Yuugi's as strong as expected.
Suika/Sakuya: Similar to above, but Sakuya's more of a technical fighter and uses a makeshift 'barrier' to reduce any damage inflicted on her.
Byakuren/Shou: Another pretty strong team, with their trump card being Byakuren's magic. They gave a fair clean fight that wasn't onesided or DEM-ish.
Tenshi/Okuu: The ultimate shield and the nigh-ultimate sword. They're only held back by Okuu's rather lacking IQ.
Sanae/Suwako: One old school war god and a "good girl" Sanae's merely decent, but has levels in "Wrestler Therapist" and a few in "Fan favorite", making up for the fact she gets in over her head ALOT.
Marisa/Nitori: Unsure, but I'm not sure how well they'd do considering who else is competing.
Ran/Chen: Nice team work and some skills, but they took things too lightly and didn't have any species advantage (They both were more magic based, in contrast to Shou and the Onis)
HJ: Very high marks in all areas, great balance. Most startling though is they used no foul trickery, just clean technical skill. Very surprising due to just how strong the petite Yama is.
Eientei Team: Considerable abilities all around, with Kaguya's more traditional style (and surprising prowress/bust) and Eirin's very techinical one that left both Keine and Mokou a mess.
Mokou/Keine: Compared to above, slightly weaker. Keine's traditional skill is about on par with Kaguya and the yama, and some nice strength, no match for Eirin though. Mokou mainly had guts and determination as her noteworthy traits, allowing her to get in some nice hits on her opponents.
The mixed team: I must say it seems Mokou's kinda dragging them down, especially when up against the most surprising team seen so far.
