That's one of two ribbon tails that ties into a bow on the back of her shirt.

Oh for pete's sake, don't bait the guy. My first impression of PMMM was "Nanoha without the Gundams" because of all the UNLIMITED MUSKET WORKS pics that were floating around here back then. You can't even begin to imagine how disappointed I was by the actual series.

For the benefit of the new guy: It's magical girls by way of Evangelion, with special emphasis on the psychological and emotional torture of little girls.

Naw, man, why must you feed him that? That new guy surely won't watch the anime now.

That's the idea. Either he's into that kind of thing and he'll watch it anyways or he'll ignore it completely. Either option is better for everyone involved than him watching it on false pretenses and then hating it with a blistering fury like I do.
