    Resuming:

Scoville = The unit used in scouters to measure spicyness. 5000 scovilles is incredibly bland.

If what is informed is correct, 1.000.000 scovilles it can actually HURT your tongue, and pure capsicain itself is about 16 million.

Some poisonous plants have a capsicain-polymer-based latex which has some BILLIONS of scovilles. So, if you're unfortunate to get one of those in your mouth, you'll be too busy trying to close the actual hole it punched through your tongue (seriously) while feeling you're drinking molten lava, instead of getting some antitoxin.

From the book "Why Do Men Have Nipples?: Hundreds of Questions You'd Only Ask a Doctor After Your Third Martini"

    Scoville list:
    0-100: Bell/sweet peppers
    100-500: Pepperoncinis
    500-1000: New Mexico peppers
    1000-1500: Espanola peppers
    1000-2000: Ancho and pasilla peppers
    1000-2500: Cascabel and cherry peppers
    2500-5000: Jalapeno and Mirasol peppers
    5000-15K: Serrano peppers
    15K-30K: Chile de Arbol peppers
    30K-50K: Cayenne and Tabasco peppers
    50K-100K: Chiltepin peppers
100K-350K: Scotch Bonnet and Thai peppers
    200K-300K: Habanero peppers
16M: Pure capsaicin (CAN CAUSE BURNS ON SKIN)

Not verbatum, but it gets the point across.
