    Balut's the Filipino word and more commonly used. I'm surprised they decided to use the viet name, even my viet relatives refer to the stuff as "Balut" :D

    Maybe using a Vietnam pronunciation would make it more eastern, where is balut is a common name of the food that been use by the western tongue.

    Most Japanese I know use "hobiron", not "barutto" so I think it makes more sense with "hột vịt lộn". However, for an English translation should be balut.

    Also the dish is not bad, tasty even. It's the picture that makes it disgusting. Like some people dislikes black pudding or so.
