So right after that amazing Thunder in episode one, one of three things happened: 1. What we saw in the show. 2. Satoshi was put into a coma. 3. Pikachu made a contract with him outlining his wish of becoming a Pokemon Master, but took his ability to age.
@AshtonNauran You make a legitimate point with the whole coma dream view. Everything that has happened in the anime after that episode could explain why Satoshi hasn't aged.

Even the point when it was stated that it's been one year since Ash visited Viridian and two years when he returned from the Johto region.
I'm pretty sure everyone already thinks the anime is Satoshi dreaming while he's in a coma. I think when he woke up to get Pikachu at the beginning of the series, he was already in a coma, and he was starting to dream about having Pokemon and friends and defeating all the gym leaders, which is what he wanted to do when he was awake.
No, no. The reason Ash hasn't aged is BECAUSE he made the contract with Chubey.
Although, it would be funny if the entire series has been a dream since the very beginning. As in, Pokemon DON'T exist; Ash has been lucid dreaming/comatose since before the series started.
