I can't get the translation thing working... top right: You're becoming more slender, nee-san Soon you'll be 60 dai, ufufufufufu (No idea what dai is, it's not what you would normally write for cm nor inch.) middle: magyuu~ (sound of the tape) top left: It's tight... (literally constricting)
I don't think it's a matter of willingness to share, just willingness to actually do it. Especially for cases like me, where it involves looking up kanji.
comment #37798 You should be more grateful that we with Japanese knowledge even bother to translate things here, for free. In my case I'm not even neither an English nor Japanese native speaker, so translating is sometimes a difficult task.
I come to Danbooru from time to time to see if there's something I can translate, but I'm not going to do the 526 pictures tagged as translation_requested.
comment #37921 Your translation is quite good, I've finished the job and did the editing. Note that 台 in this context means "mark", as in "you've passed the 60 mark"
I didn't say you had to do them all; I'm just saying if those who frequent Danbooru with enough Japanese knowledge could do it a bit more frequently then many more could get translated--every little bit helps, since there seem to be more than a few such users.
comment #38400 There's not as many people with Japanese knowledge as you think. Personally I translate whatever strikes my fancy and I feel confident of. If I'm really bored, I'd think of taking a few off the top of the translation_requested tag.
99% of that tag, and even more of the people that post a comment asking for translation are totally retarded.
"translation request." "Uh... some huffing and panting. Chanting {the guy's name, onii-chan, master}."
comment #38400 Believe me, translating Japanese to an occidental language is usually very difficult, there are too many expressions and grammar which doesn't have a literal equivalent. This is one of the reasons why many people (me included) sometimes have enough knowledge to grasp the meaning and joke of something, but are not confident enough to translate it.
If people didn't ask for complete translations, but short summaries which explains the joke/situation, there would be more "translations". I'm doing this from time to time, but I'm not sure whether it's appreciated.
post #72348 note: I have never been able to figure out a good way to translate 'okashi' in sex. It's used a lot, especially by inexperienced or loli characters. "Haaa aaa ooo no, it feels weird. It's getting weird. It's weeirdd! Ha hii hiii (sounds like 'good, but she's panting too) I'm coming, I'm coming again. HAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Inside my womb. So much is coming. haaaa."
You can cut and paste this onto 90% of the pictures people request translations for.
comment #39736 OK, I'll consider doing the "summary translation" in a comment when I don't feel able to do a proper translation.
comment #39751 Maybe it's an abbreviation of 頭がおかしくなる, i.e. "I'm going crazy". It's the only thing I can think of which makes some sense, but I'm not sure.
comment #39757 Well yeah, I know okashi well enough. I'd even feel confident of it outside of sex. But during the sex scenes it just sounds so retarded to say strange/crazy like that.
