On one hand, Zekrom takes barely any damage at all from electric attacks thanks to being Electric/Dragon, giving it a large advantage. On the other hand Pikachu has plot armour that allows it to completely ignore things like typing most of the time. So I say this could be a surprisingly even battle.

Except I don't think they wanted to battle each other in the first place.

However, I think Red'd know better to choose stronger pokemon to fight a legendary. Blastoise for example.

Lets not forget that in the anime, pikachu hited for massive damage a GROUND pokemon with thunderbolt (!). And thats the pikachu owned by the pussy ash, think about a pikachu owned by the badass red.
