A small omnivorous wild canine genus (Vulpes) that consists of numerous species around the world, as well as colloquially including a few similar non-Vulpes canids. Foxes are best known for their bushy tails and pointed snouts, as well as their curious and playful behavior.
Foxes are very important to Japanese folklore, being the center of the kitsune myths, often being depicted with multiple tails - up to a total of nine.
