    ウォッチメン WATCHMEN

A superhero comic book series written by Alan Moore and published by DC Comics in 1986. It depicts an alternate history where masked heroes emerged in the 1940s, changing many key moments in history, but became outlawed in the 1970s. The comic takes place in the 1980s as the world edges closer to World War III. The comic is notable in that, with the exception of one character, all the masked heroes and villains are humans with no supernatural abilities.

A feature film directed by Zack Snyder was released in 2009.
