A 2012-2014 light novel spin-off of the Fate series, written by Higashide Yuuichirou and illustrated by Konoe Ototsugu.
Fate/Apocrypha is based around a parallel world to the Fate/stay night canon, where the Holy Grail was removed from Fuyuki City after the third War. The plot focuses on the reappearance of the Grail at Trifas during the 2000s (around the time the fifth Fuyuki War would have occurred) and the rivalry between the Black and Red Factions, each composed of renegades and loyalists to the Mage's Association, respectively, each summoning seven Servants of each type, with the Grail itself summoning Jeanne d'Arc as mediator.
A manga adaptation has been serialized in Comp Ace magazine since 2016. An anime adaptation aired in 2017.
Characters designed for the original MMORPG concept of Fate/Apocrypha, revealed in the artbook Fate/complete material IV. They would later be implemented into Fate/Grand Order.
