Michael Schumacher (b. 3 January 1969) is a German former racing driver and seven-time Formula One World Champion who has competed in the highest-class Formula category from 1991 to 2006, returning briefly between 2010 and 2012, before retiring from the sport.
He holds the joint-record for the most championships with Lewis Hamilton. Schumacher has won his first two consecutive titles with Benetton, while claiming the next five in a row (also a record) with Ferrari.
On 29 December 2013, Schumacher suffered a severe brain injury in a skiing accident. Since he was discharged from hospital in September 2014 and enter private rehabilitation at his home, Schumacher has not been seen by the public to this day and his current medical condition is still unknown.
