    goliath tracked mine

    ゴリアテ(兵器)

Officially designed as the Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath (Sd.Kfz. 302/303a/303b), the Goliath tracked mine was also called the Beetle Tank by allies soldiers because it looks like a small tank.

Packed with explosives, these were remotely controlled. Unfortunately, a long cable was required between it and the user and this could be easily severed or damaged. The mine itself had weak armor and a low speed and most were destroyed or captured. Although it proved useless for Germany in World War II, it proved to be the basis of unmanned vehicles.
