Houseki no Kuni (宝石の国, lit. "Country of Jewels", English: "Land of the Lustrous") is an ongoing action/fantasy manga series. The series is written and illustrated by Haruko Ichikawa and has been published in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine since December 2012. The manga was on hiatus from December 2020 until June 2022.
Set in a world inhabited by "jewel people," it chronicles their efforts to find the place where they belong and defend their way of life.
An anime promotional video was released on July 2013. A 12 episode anime adaptation aired between October and December 2017.
