itou kaiji

The main character of Fukumoto Nobuyuki's gambling manga and anime series Kaiji (his family name is rarely mentioned). A young man bouncing between jobs, Kaiji is locked in perpetual poverty and debt. He resorts to gambling to improve his situation, but ends up facing odds he never bargained for. While he is often on the receiving end of punishments, his ability to fight back casts him as the underdog.

He has a pointy nose, sanpaku, long black hair with medium-length bangs and later a scar on his left cheek and his fingers. His outfit changes between the various parts of the story.

Part 1: An open long-sleeved brown bomber jacket with four flags on the back: American, South Korean, Taiwanese, and United Nations, a grey shirt, blue pants, and blue sneakers.

Part 2: An open plaid green shirt with short sleeves, a black undershirt, white gloves, and brown pants.

Parts 3 and 4: A puffy black coat and a green turtleneck sweater with a zipper.
