In real life, she was the third of the Le Fantasque-class built and commissioned, seeing service in the Mediterranean and French West Africa (Senegal) on the Vichy side before sustaining damage in the naval battle of Casablanca in November 1942. Afterward, she joined the Free French and modernized in the US, seeing further action in the liberation of France, and post-war, in Indochina before being decommissioned in 1964.
