    mejiro family matriarch

    おばあさま(ウマ娘) メジロ家のおばあさま メジロおばアサマ

    "Grandmother (Umamusume)", "Mejiro Family Grandmother"

Unnamed supporting character from the Umamusume anime. Head of the Mejiro Family and presumptive grandmother of Mejiro McQueen.

The Mejiro matriarch appears as an elderly woman with wavy medium-length light purple hair (same shade as McQueen's). She wears a wide-brimmed black hat and dresses in black clothes with long, flared-out sleeves.

Addressed to as "Grandmother" (obaa-sama) by McQueen.

The Mejiro matriarch shares some resemblance with Kitano Miya, the real-life former owner and chairman of Mejiro Farm (Mejiro Shouji Co Ltd). Mrs. Kitano was also affectionately referred to as "Granny Mejiro" by Japanese horse racing fans.

As Mejiro McQueen's grandmother is canonically known to have won the Tenno Sho before, the matriarch is widely speculated to be a horse girl and a composite representation of both Kitano Miya and Mejiro Asama (grandsire to the real-life Mejiro McQueen and also former winner of the Tenno Sho). An alternative interpretation holds that the matriarch is human (no horse ears visible and the telephone in her office is sized for humans) and the Tenno Sho winner to be McQueen's other grandmother.
