The titular character of Popeye the Sailor series. He is a sailor who is almost always seen with a smoking pipe in his mouth.

He is frequently harassed by his taller arch-enemy Bluto, who is normally stronger than him. However, whenever he ate a spinach, he gained superhuman strength that is capable of easily defeating Bluto and other adversaries with ease.
