    statice

    リモニウム スターチス

Limonium, commonly called statice, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Plumbaginaceae. Other common names are sea lavender and marsh rosemary. Commonly represented by Limonium sinuatum (wavyleaf sea lavender), native to the Mediterranean region.

Statice bears small, funnel-shaped flowers that grow in clusters, usually on the same side of the winged stem. What is commonly thought of as the flower is actually the calyx (a group of sepals), and the actual petaled flowerhead (called the corolla) emerges at the top. The calyx (lower part) is usually blue, purple, or pink, sometimes yellow or white; the corolla (upper part) is usually white, sometimes yellow.

Despite the common names, Limonium is not related to lavender or rosemary.
