Eyes drawn with the top eyelid slanted outwards, to the point where the outer corner of the eye is much lower than the inner corner.
This usually produces a weak, gentle look and is generally given to characters with soft personalities (naturally, exceptions exist).
Opposite is tsurime, which usually produces a strong, piercing look.
- jitome - eyes topped with a flat line
- sanpaku - eyes that show white primarily above or below the iris
- tareme - eyes with a rounded, drooping shape
- tsurime - eyes with an upward outer "point"
