    uta no prince-sama

    うたの☆プリンスさまっ♪ うたプリ うたのプリンスさま うた☆プリ

A Japanese multimedia franchise about male idols by Broccoli, originally starting with an otome game published in 2010 and since then has spawned multiple sequels and rhythm game spin-offs, with the most notable being Uta no Prince-sama: Shining Live. It has since received a manga and a 2011 anime with a second season in 2012, a third in 2014, a fourth in 2016, and a movie in 2019.
It is considered one of the foremost franchises in the male idol genre and has retained its fame both in Japan and worldwide for more than a decade.

The original plot line followed the heroine Nanami Haruka’s life in Saotome Academy, a prestigious performing arts school made up of students who are either vying to become an idol or a music producer, as she chases after her dream of becoming a composer and someday writing a song for her favorite idol HAYATO. Haruka becomes acquainted with six of her classmates, who are all competing to become idols. For her project, she must team up with another student as an idol-producer team, and if they are successful, they will join Shining Agency after graduation.

The franchise features three idol groups: the main group ST★RISH, QUARTET NIGHT - a band made up of the seniors of ST★RISH in the 2013 game Uta no Prince-sama: All Star, and HE★VENS - an anime-only idol group introduced in Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000% and not seen before in the games who become rivals to ST★RISH
