If Eirin does the surgery, she'd probably try to re-grow Sakuya's leg. That might work on a youkai, but doing that sort of thing on a human...might cause some rather strange effects/mutations...

Nope. It's a real procedure in RL, just takes seven years using current technology. They can repair most bodily injury (barring Brain Damage) by pumping the approprate nutirents into the body. The Natural Human systems takes care of the rest for most people, for the rest backpacking bacteria has to be used to restore these functions. Do recall that, on the lowest level, Humans and Lunarians are exactly alike. So, if she didn't know how to handle the accidents that are bound to happen on the moon (moon-bunnies are canonically careless and they might hurt someone valuable or a science experiment gone wrong, etc.), what kind of a doctor would she be? I mean, after all, preventative medicine is absolutely useless on the moon.
Aside, from what I recall the SDM canonically doesn't get along with Eientei in the first place.
I have taken the liberty to take the translation i found and tranfer it to here. (im sorry if i did something wrong. but i just love this story) ps. Orginal translator: Nazerine from Gaku Gaku Animal Land.
I assumed you'd just come out with some Chinese sword and hack it off in one go...It's a little late now, but are you sure you're all right with this? What kind of impression do you have of me!?You always say such strange things, Miss Sakuya. You should, if you ask me. Why did you want local anesthesia, anyway? It would be a waste to sleep through such a major life event.I'm surprised at how official this is, though. Not at all. I'm almost worried I'll fall asleep...Miss Sakuya, doesn't it hurt?
