If one was translating more liberally, 4K could have been changed to 4G (as in cellphones) to match the titles, and thus preserve the joke; There's really no suitable superlative in English that starts with a 'K' - that Houshou would be using, anyway. (Like, I dunno, 'killer' or 'kilo-' or something; yeah, killer would work 'Killer dosh, Killer marks, Killer height.)
The 3K, as you can probably guess, are the 'requirements' for a 'suitable' marriage candidate. Ideally, it's a Toudai (Or Keio, Waseda or such like - notable, foreign universities are less regarded here) graduate, (well) above-average in height and making very respectable money (Junior executive and above). It's much less openly prevalent now, what with the downturn of the economy.

Let's not forget sexism abolition. One of the pros of equality is males no longer have to be the ones covering such absurd requisites. In Spanish we also have the "three Fs": feo (ugly), fuerte (strong) and formal (same meaning).

Oh no, it's still quite present in Japan; people just say it out loud less; it's one of the factors behind Japan's low marriage rate - with the downturn, and people 'dropping out of society', there's less people in good jobs, and less people even bothering to go to university at all.
Car, career, condo, credit card, and I'm sure there's one more but I can't remember.
This is a year-late reply, but it's cash.
Wha?You're interested in this too, Houshou-san?While I, myself, have no interest in such titles,My word, how amazing! And yet, it is now 4K... Gentlemen must have no end to their anxiety as well, no?It's gotten to 4K now, has it?Good picture quality, perhaps?
kougashitsuI use an AQUOSIt was called 3K back in the day.
There is a double misunderstanding: The term 3K usually means "Dirty, Dangerous and Demeaning (job)".
Houshou is confounding it with the 3-Kou (三高, 3-Hs/3-Gs).We're at the age where 4K is commonplace, aren't we?Good income, Good schooling, Good height -
koushuunyuu, kougakureki, koushinchouYou just fall for it, that 4K.
