Not really though. It's just that there are people able to do so. I, on the other hand, failed miserably. Not once but twice already. First was my highschool, wanted to act like a playful kid but then just acted all up tied like how I was in middle school. The same with my start in college. It's just a matter of willing to act differently and whether if it is possible to keep it up until you are used to the new way of living. I failed in the second one and possibly the first too.

I'm going to argue that once you get to Highschool you're already fucked. You're halfway between kid and adult. It's easier to bring brainwashed kids back when they're still young or at least in the first few years of middle school. Just throw them a delicious doughnut.
Or at least that's what pretty cures have taught me.

I started out introverted. I ended up still introverted. Some people are just clamming it up because reasons. Others do it because they really like to, and much prefer solitary activities anyhow. The one thing that really gets me talking, and it worked even when I was a kid, was to start an interesting discussion topic. Then I will be talking for seemingly without end for hours. However, even then I peter out, having used up the energy, and just hide in a hole for the next day or something doing my solitary activities (that or go right out and get that sweet sweet fresh air, and hopefully not get stuck on a tree or something).
Now as an adult, I have more things taking up my time and draining my energy reserves, so I just ended up *more* introverted than I used to be.
Something that I've learned from adulthood and the reason I hate psychologists is that introverted/extroverted it doesn't matter at all. Psychology in order to "remedy you" has to classify absolutely everything with sickening sounding names so some cheap psychologists take advantage of them to overcharge for a normal condition. It's like going to the doctor for a medical check, being healthy and in return get diagnosed with "syndrome of low fat muscle", "chronic disease from old age", "disorder of average stature" and "post traumatic evidence of ugliness" so they can convince you to return regularly for extra sessions.
Any kind of behavior is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with your life style and preferably everyone else's (we don't need sociopaths and perverts doing everything openly as they please). If being obsessive compulsive helps you being more organized and focused in your work, go on. If you can't go out from home without checking all socks are perfectly paired up but you wish to do something else, then look for treatment.
