The color scheme would indicate it's a Super Famicom controller instead of a SNES controller. SNES coloring would have made more sense though.
I have a question for fighting game fans; how long does it take to master a character's move set? I had a brief exposure to fighting games as a kid, but gave up because of the complexity and dexterity involved.
Did I lack the aptitude or is it normal for there to be something of a learning curve? Days as opposed to hours of practice?

It's still a SNES controller because in PAL regions the console and controllers looked the same as in Japan but named as SNES. But that's just silly semantics.

Neo Geo controller would be entirely black and have 4 buttons, the stick in the picture seems to have 6 or 8 buttons which would be too many for a Neo Geo.
