Whichever people have toes like that, they are freaks.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morton%27s_toe It's common enough to not be freaky, especially in the more mild cases. I've got a mild case of it. She's got a rather extreme looking case though.
I don't think the second toe extending past the big toe's that anomalous, really. Perhaps not to the extent as seen here but it's probably not outside the realms of possibility.
I also have pretty extreme form of Morton's toe. I always thought it was normal until few years ago. It seems it's been causing problems with my toes because shoes are not made to fit our foot types. I always had problems with my toe nails growing in triangular pointy shapes because of this issue.
